In 2023, I began research work aiming to uncover and chronicle the life of one of Canada’s true champions of Culture and the Arts: David Phillips Silcox, O.C. (1937-2023). Among David’s treasure-trove of accomplishments, he held the positions of:

• First Director of Cultural Affairs Metro Toronto

• Assistant Deputy Minister in the federal department of Communications and Culture

• Deputy of Culture and Communications for the Province of Ontario

• President of Sotheby’s Canada
